To be eligible for the IGNOU Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing program, applicants must fulfill the following criteria which is given below:

  • For In-service Nurses (RNRM) with 10+2 Qualification:
    • Students must have completed their 10+2 (or equivalent) and hold a 3-year Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM).
    • They should have at least 2 years of work experience in the same field (after registering as a RNRM).
    • Male nurses who did not study midwifery in their GNM program. So you need to make sure that you must hold a certificate in any nursing course (6-9 months) as prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council.
  • For In-service Nurses (RNRM) with 10th Qualification (Matriculation):
    • You must pass your 10th standard (Matriculation) or its equivalent and be a 3-year Diploma holder in GNM.
    • Need 5 years of work experience (post-registration) is required.
    • Male nurses without midwifery training should have completed a 6-9 months nursing course certified by the Indian Nursing Council.
