Master’s of Library and Information Science is offered for a 1-year duration at IGNOU. This PG course can be pursued by all those students who have completed their bachelor’s degree in library, information science, or other related fields. During the course curriculum, students have to study Public Library Systems and Services, Academic Library Systems, and others as some of the mandatory IGNOU MLIS subjects. Step 5: Next, log in to the portal with the credentials created by you created in the previous step.
Step 6: Start entering your date of birth, names of your mother and father, their occupation, address, details of your ID proof, your 12th class and graduation scores, and other important personal and educational details.
Step 7: Some crucial documents like your passport-size photograph, scanned signature, 12th class and graduation certificate/mark sheet, and others will need to be uploaded by you in the correct format and size.

IGNOU MLIS Re-Registration 2026
Indira Gandhi National Open University Re-registration process for the MLIS program will start for the January 2026 session. The last date for completing the IGNOU Re-registration of the MLIS program is 31 January 2026*. Students who are already enrolled in the Master of Library and Information Science program will need to re-register to get enrolled for the next semester of this program.
They can complete re-registering to the PG program of MLIS course at IGNOU’s official website. To complete this process, students will need to enter their enrollment number given by IGNOU along with the password to re-register for the IGNOU MLIS program.
