IGNOU MPhil Admission 2025-26:

For the Masters of Philosophy program, IGNOU Admission 2025 has started for the January 2025 session. IGNOU MPhil apply online process will go on till a last date of 31 January 2025. Students who want to enrol themselves to this PG program must apply before the IGNOU MPhil admission 2025 last date. The online application forms for MPhil course is available at IGNOU’s official website – @ignou.ac.in. For meeting the eligibility criteria for the Master of Philosophy course, applicants will need to have a bachelor’s degree gained through a UGC-recognized university. As per the last updated NEP 2020 Guidelines, the MPhil program will no longer be offered at IGNOU. However, the university is offering several other UG, PG, Certificate, Diploma, and PhD courses. 

IGNOU MPhil Admission Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must have completed their graduation or its equivalent qualification in any stream and specialization.

• There are no age restrictions or entrance tests conducted at IGNOU for enrolling students in its Master of Philosophy program. 

IGNOU MPhil Re-Registration

Students who want to enroll in IGNOU’s MPhil course should know that they will need to re-register themselves every semester. In the IGNOU Re-registration process, students will have to enter their enrollment number, password, and captcha. Students will be promoted to the next semester of the MPhil course only after the candidate’s re-registration is completed. As the MPhil course is not being offered by IGNOU, following the NEP 2020 Guidelines. Hence, IGNOU Re-registration for the January 2025 session is currently going on for multiple programs with a deadline of 31 January 2025. 

IGNOU MPhil Course Details: 

The Master of Philosophy course is offered at IGNOU for a duration of 2 years, however, those who are not able to get the degree in the given time frame can complete the course in a maximum of 4 years. IGNOU MPhil admission 2025 is currently going on and all the students with a qualification of bachelor’s degree can apply for this course. IGNOU MPhil fees for the whole curriculum of this course is INR 14,4000. Human Resource Management, Peace Studies, Social Movements, and others are some of the IGNOU MPhil subjects. Currently, the IGNOU MPhil course has been instructed to be discontinued as per the NEP 2020 Guidelines. 

How to Apply IGNOU MPhil Admission 2025:

Step 1: Open IGNOU’s official website – @ignou.ac.in. 

Step 2: Scroll down to the page and stop at the bottom of the page where you can find the option of “Apply for ODL programs”.

Step 3: Now, the applicants will be able to see all the important instructions for the admission process of IGNOU January 2025 session. 

Step 4: Click here for “Click here for new registration”. 

Step 5: For registering to IGNOU’s MPhil course, students will need to enter their full name and contact details. Create a login credential for IGNOU MPhil admission portal.

Step 6: Make sure that you have a DEB ID, that can be created through the Digilocker app with the student’s ABC ID.

Step 7: For getting the online application form for MPhil course, students will need to log into the admission portal with the login credentials created earlier by them.

Step 8: Start providing your personal and educational details which includes the details about mother and father’s name, occupation, and family income. Also enter the data about your scores and educational institution in your previous qualification.

Step 9: Upload your documents in the correct size and format, such as your photograph (passport-size), signature, etc.

Step 10: Pay the IGNOU application fee for the MPhil program of INR 300.

Step 11: Review all the information and then click on “Submit”. Take a screenshot for future reference.

Documents Required

During the IGNOU MPhil application process, candidates will need to upload certain digital documents. All these documents need to be in the same format and size as mentioned by IGNOU in its guidelines. All the important documents required by IGNOU in the application form are as follows:

• Applicant’s passport-size photograph (recent)
• Scanned signature
• 10th and 12th class mark sheet and certificate 
• Migration certificate of intermediate 
• Bachelor’s degree and mark sheet
